We build our range around one unusual pairing: emu oil and hemp-derived CBD. Emu oil is a thin, fast-absorbing carrier that carries what is blended into it down into the skin rather than sitting on top of it, which is why our emu oil balm feels different from a thick, waxy balm. Hemp extract is what we blend into it. These are body-care products for tired, overworked muscles — that is the whole claim, and we would rather say it plainly than dress it up.

What goes in, and what does not

Our products are formulated with naturally derived ingredients, without harsh chemicals or unnecessary additives, and they suit most skin types. Emu oil is rich in essential fatty acids and absorbs quickly; the hemp extract is third-party tested, and every batch's Certificate of Analysis is linked beneath the product below so you can read the lab results rather than take our word for the contents.

These are not products we sourced and put a label on. They are the formulas our own therapists use on clients every week at 41 Union Square West, which means they get tested against real hands and real bodies long before they reach a shelf. If a texture drags, or an oil absorbs too slowly to work with, we hear about it the same day.

What is emu oil, and why blend it with hemp?

Emu oil is rendered from the fat of the emu, and the property that matters here is how thin it is. It absorbs quickly and leaves very little residue, so it behaves as a carrier rather than a coating — which is exactly what you want from a balm you are rubbing into a shoulder rather than a cream you are leaving on your face. That is why an emu oil balm feels lighter than a beeswax-heavy balm of the same thickness, and why our therapists can keep working over it without the drag that a heavier product creates.

Which one should you buy?

Choose the emu balm for a specific spot you can reach and want to work with your hands — a shoulder, a knee, the back of a calf. Choose the roller when you want to apply without getting it on your hands, which in practice means mid-day, at a desk, or in a gym bag. Choose the massage oil if someone else is doing the applying and you want coverage across a whole back or a whole set of legs. Most people who buy twice end up with the balm and the roller.

About these formulations

Both formulations are hemp-derived and made for the same purpose we use them for in the treatment room: easing tight, overworked tissue and helping the nervous system settle. Nothing here is a medical product, and nothing here is a substitute for care from a licensed clinician.
